I was flown in from Europe to spearhead the design and retouching operations for a high-volume jewelry house in the city’s historic jewelry district. Back then, the industry was in its infancy – there were no online tutorials or mentors. It was just me, my Photoshop workstation, and a commitment to surgical precision.

In 2004, discretion was everything. While I worked inside high-security vaults in the LA Jewelry District, especially in Hill Street, cameras were strictly forbidden. I didn’t just edit photos; I lived the craft. I photographed the pieces myself and hand-retouched every image – polishing precious metals, balancing gemstone fire, and removing imperfections with a level of detail that only a jeweler’s eye can appreciate.
