Jewelry Retouching
Transforming Good Shots into Stunning Masterpieces
Jewelry retouching is a highly skilled art that uses Photoshop to deliver stunning, eye-catching images. It makes your jewelry sparkle and shine.Retouched jewelry attracts more buyers than unedited images—but it must look natural, not fake. We never do over-retouching that looks unrealistic or obviously edited.
Our goal is to keep the result looking natural, so the viewer is drawn to the beauty of the piece without suspecting it has been heavily altered. Our images are ideal for showcasing products to customers—whether on posters, websites, or eCommerce platforms.
Our team is continuously trained to the highest standards, and we use the latest Photoshop software to ensure flawless jewelry editing.
Jewelry Background Removal
The background needs to be removed almost every time. Jewelry is usually photographed on darker backgrounds rather than pure white. These backgrounds often contain hairs, fingerprints, or visible damage.
Removing the background is the first step in jewelry retouching. We do it manually to achieve the most natural edges without losing any material.
At this stage, manual work is still the only reliable method. There’s no one-click solution to cleanly remove the background.
It must be done perfectly—because jagged edges or missing texture become obvious when you zoom in on the image.

Jewelry E-commerce Retouching
We offer bulk jewelry retouching services for e-commerce and catalogs. In these cases, speed and efficiency are essential—along with consistently high quality. Many jewelry owners don’t realize just how important the product photos are.
Customers notice everything. They choose what to wear on their bodies based on the pictures they see.
That’s why it’s crucial to have flawless-looking photos that don’t look overly retouched or fake. Sometimes, I browse jewelry websites and see jewelers using obviously fake 3D-rendered images. They still do this even when the real piece looks nothing like the render.

Jewelry & Models Retouching
Many times, clients request that we place their beautiful jewelry on models. It’s important that it looks realistic. You have to carefully match the jewelry’s sharpness, color, and lighting so it blends naturally. You can’t just paste jewelry onto a model—the lighting, sharpness, shadows, and size all need to match perfectly.
We’ve worked with extremely valuable jewelry pieces and placed them on models with stunning results. Our work stands out when it comes to placing jewelry on models.
Sometimes, you’ll see other retouchers who don’t know how to properly match the jewelry with the model. They miss the right size, sparkle, finesse, and overall “wow” factor—and instead just do a quick copy-paste job in Photoshop. The result looks terrible.

Jewelry Custom Shadow And Reflections
Jewelry shadow and reflection are among the most important aspects of jewelry retouching.
I often see retouchers creating simple mirror shadows—but those look fake and unconvincing. Shadows and reflections must be believable to support the realism of the image.
Since original jewelry is usually photographed on a white background (which is often not pure white), the jewelry needs to be cut out. In most cases, there’s no natural shadow or reflection in the original shot, so a skilled retoucher has to create it manually, piece by piece. A well-crafted shadow or reflection makes the product look realistic and beautiful, helping customers trust what they see. Poor shadows or reflections, on the other hand, signal that something’s off—and that can lead to lost sales.
Every lost customer is lost revenue.
We take time to create shadows and reflections that are realistic and believable—think Tiffany-style quality. If you’re selling high-end jewelry, you simply can’t afford to use fake or generic shadow work.

Jewelry Color Correction
Jewelry color correction is another essential step in the jewelry retouching process.
Many retouchers, when working on white gold or silver pieces, simply desaturate the metal and remove all color. But in reality, silver and white gold often have a subtle bluish tint—that’s part of what makes them look natural and premium.
To capture that realism in an image, you need to add a controlled amount of tint, not strip it away. Just desaturating might be quick, but it creates a flat, lifeless result. Tinting, when done properly, adds depth, authenticity, and elegance.
Color tinting is a crucial step. It gives natural silver and white gold their characteristic cool tone, enhancing both realism and beauty.
And that’s exactly what we aim for: realistic, high-quality images that reflect the true look of fine jewelry.
Same goes for creating rose or yellow gold from white gold sample and vice versa. The colors need to be correct. Otherwise it looks fake.

Custom Jewelry Color
We specialize in creating custom jewelry gold tints for clients who want something truly unique.
For example, one customer requested a champagne white gold finish — not the typical bluish or grey tone, but a warm, elegant shade that blended seamlessly with their background. We provided several tint options, and they selected Sample A as the perfect match.
Unlike low-quality retouching, where all the color is stripped out to mimic white gold (which looks flat and unrealistic), we focus on precision and customization. Our team is always open to special requests and custom color work to achieve the exact look you envision.
